Waterfall Ice Climbing - 2 days in Stara Planina – Ice climbing, snowshoe hiking, raspberry wine in a cozy hut - what better winter adventure? Two days of climbing and hiking under the guidance of established alpine guides who will teach you basic climbing techniques and safety!
Program:
Day 1:
- 9:30 AM – Bov Station, group introduction, brief instruction and departure
- 9:30 AM-11:30 AM – Hike along the picturesque "Pod Kamiko" eco-trail (5-6 km, 2 hours) with views of frozen cascades
- 11:30 AM-4:30 PM – Climbing the 45-meter ice cascade, training in setting up ice anchors and "ABALAKOV" belay
- 5:00 PM-7:30 PM – Hike to Trastena Hut (7 km)
- Accommodation, dinner, discussions over a glass of raspberry wine
Day 2:
- 7:00 AM – Breakfast and departure back to the waterfall
- 9:30 AM-3:00 PM – Climbing
- 3:00 PM-6:00 PM – Back to Bov Station along an alternative part of the eco-trail
Requirements:
- Good physical condition
- Motivation and desire for challenges
- No prior climbing experience required
Bonus: In warm and unsuitable weather, climbing takes place in the cirque of the Seven Rila Lakes!
