The center gathers multiple applied arts under one roof — from pottery and art ceramics to woodcarving, weaving, bookbinding, fusing, copper jewelry, and painted silk. The ceramics workshop runs in a small group with individual attention. Large windows open to the old town with views of Tsarevets Fortress, Trapezitsa Hill, and the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God. At times, the session may coincide with the evening “Sound and Light” show for an extra touch of atmosphere.
How the session flows
- Welcome and short intro to the space, tools, and clay.
- Basics of working with clay: hand‑building, shaping volume and detail, smoothing, and simple decoration.
- Choosing your idea and planning the form to suit your taste and skill.
- Hands‑on creation with individual guidance from the master at every step.
- Final touches and preparing the piece for drying and firing.
- Discussion of glazes and finishing stages, completed by the team after your session.
After the workshop
Your piece stays at the studio to dry, be kiln‑fired and glazed for durability and a refined finish. These stages take time — you receive your finished ceramic work in about two weeks.
