Professional Barista Course in Sofia – Two Days of Training
Description
Professional Barista Course in Sofia
Explore speciality coffee with a professional barista course in Sofia that brings together theory and hands-on learning over two intensive days. If you want to develop your coffee-making skills and take a step towards a career behind the coffee bar, this training provides a foundation and practical skills for work in the hotel, restaurant and catering sector, also known as HoReCa.
The programme follows coffee from cultivation and processing through to the finished drink and the way it is served. You will connect knowledge of coffee's origins and flavour with the practical decisions involved in adjusting a grinder, making espresso and preparing milk.
The knowledge and skills you will develop
- Coffee's journey: explore cultivation, processing and the differences between speciality and commercial coffee.
- Espresso preparation: work on dosing, tamping, extraction and grinder adjustment to achieve a balanced flavour.
- Milk drinks and latte art: practise milk foaming and fundamental techniques for pouring attractive designs onto coffee.
- Brewing methods: discover V60, Chemex, AeroPress, cezve, French press and siphon brewing.
- Working behind the coffee bar: consider workflow, service and how to create an enjoyable coffee experience for customers.
- Tasting and analysis: learn to identify flavour notes and assess a coffee's acidity, body and balance.
- Equipment care: cover effective cleaning and maintenance of an espresso machine and coffee grinder.
Day one: speciality coffee, espresso and milk skills
The first day focuses on the foundations of speciality coffee and espresso preparation. You will cover grinder adjustment and work on understanding how your preparation affects the result in the cup.
The day's programme also includes milk foaming and latte art. Building on the espresso foundation, you will develop skills for preparing milk-based drinks and creating your first poured designs.
Day two: alternative brewing, tasting and service
On the second day, you will look beyond espresso and explore alternative ways to brew coffee. Tasting will draw your attention to flavour characteristics and how to assess the finished drink.
You will also cover the practical side of working behind the bar, including organisation and customer service. This connects the craft of preparing coffee with the way it reaches the customer as a complete experience.
