Zen Garden Workshop in Sofia — NIVA Studio

A Zen garden workshop in Sofia gives you two creative hours at NIVA Studio, for one participant. Eastern ideas of balance and contemplation inspire work with sand, forms and small details. Set aside the day's pace to arrange something with your hands and imagination.

Your miniature composition

A hand-cast ceramic vessel forms the base. Arrange fine, silky sand, selected decorative elements and green accents into a small garden reflecting your aesthetic preferences.

Details can hold personal meaning: calm, a dream, balance or a new beginning. Your arrangement need not tell the same story as anyone else's. Create a miniature space you recognise as your own.

Lines, circles and waves

Use a special rake to make patterns across the sand. Repeated movements and attention to lines lend the work a contemplative character. Observe how waves and circles alter the whole garden's appearance.

Enjoy making as well as the finished object. See the effect of your hand's movement, connect it with selected elements and pay attention to a detail easily overlooked during a busy day.

Step-by-step guidance

The session suits first-time creative-workshop participants. Receive guidance in a welcoming setting and explore your creativity. All materials are included, keeping the focus on your composition.

Take your garden home

Keep the Zen garden you have made. Place it at home or in your workspace as a decorative accent and reminder of time devoted to creativity. Its sand, patterns and arrangement retain the character of your decisions.
