From the meadows above Gorna Banya to the mountain peaks

Your starting point is the green meadows above Gorna Banya in Sofia. Here, you have the opportunity to get familiar with the electric motorbike safely before heading out along the route. This tour is intended for intermediate riders.

The climb follows a long-forgotten road towards a former missile base. It gradually takes you into the higher parts of the mountain and towards the highlight of the adventure: looking down over the capital and capturing the views in photographs.

The route passes the beautiful Gorna Banya Monastery and the abandoned missile base before reaching the peaks of Dupevitsa and Dobrinova Skala. Their sweeping views are among the tour's most memorable moments. After the climb and the sights along the way, you ride back downhill to your starting point.

Duration, group size and included equipment

The experience lasts 2 hours and takes place in a group that may include people you have not met before. The maximum group size is 4. You can choose a voucher for one, two, three or four participants.

Participation requirements

• The minimum age is 14.
• You must be at least 150 cm tall and weigh no more than 120 kg.
• A driving licence is not required.
• Participants under 18 need written parental consent.
• The route is suitable for intermediate riders.

What to wear and bring

Wear comfortable sports clothing and suitable footwear, and dress for the forecast. Wind makes it feel colder while riding, so the organiser recommends thermal base layers when temperatures are below 20°C.

Your clothing may get muddy or torn during the tour. Bringing a spare set to change into afterwards is a good idea. Open-toed footwear, including sandals and flip-flops, is not permitted. Wear sturdy shoes with firmer soles, preferably boots that cover your ankles.

You are welcome to bring your own action camera to record the adventure from your perspective.

Operating conditions and arranging your date

The tour is weather-dependent. It operates when there is no snow cover and temperatures are above 10°C, any day of the week between 09:00 and 18:00, subject to an enquiry for a specific date. Participation requests must be made at least 10 hours before the start.

The organiser's cancellation condition

The organiser states that participation can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the agreed start time. This condition applies to the tour booking; it is not a general Adventico voucher refund policy.
