Skipper course in Sofia with real practice on Lake Iskar
Structured skipper training with theory in Sofia (also available online via Zoom) and real on‑water practice at Lake Iskar. After successfully completing the course and passing the exam, you receive an internationally recognized certificate to operate and charter yachts up to 40 GT.
How the training works
- Theory (Sofia or online): 4 weeks of evening classes, twice per week. You cover navigation, pilotage, chartwork, meteorology, seamanship and the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs).
- Practice (Lake Iskar): 1 full day on a 12 m yacht in a group of 4–5. You work on berthing and unberthing, maneuvering, safety, routine checks and the essential knots.

- Hydrography and meteorology – reading conditions and planning your trip;
- Seamanship – terminology, equipment, lines and knots;
