What you’ll see and do

Paddle to two emblematic Danube islands near Belene: smaller Magaretsa and Persin—the largest Bulgarian island on the Danube. Your guide sets the pace and looks after safety so you can enjoy the river and the scenery.

How the day unfolds

• 10:00 – meet on Belene’s beach for safety instructions. Arriving early? The terrace of Hotel Prestige is perfect for a morning coffee with a river view.
• ~11:00 – set off and paddle upstream. After about an hour, stop on Magaretsa’s sandy dunes—shade, fine sand, and cool, clean water.
• Continue to the tip of Persin Island for a rest and photos.
• Return along the north side of Magaretsa and land back on Belene’s beach.
