Egg Cooking Class in Sofia

Discover just how much culinary potential lies inside an everyday ingredient. This egg cooking class in Sofia takes you beyond familiar recipes and shows you how to use eggs to create flavour, texture and dishes with a personal touch. With hands-on guidance from Chef Nikolay Nemigenchev, you will do the cooking yourself, taste what you make and develop an appreciation for the small details that turn a simple dish into a demonstration of skill.

Why a single egg can put your skills to the test

Eggs are essential to countless recipes, but familiarity does not make them easy to cook well. That is why preparing an omelette remains a classic recruitment test for chefs at some of the world's most prestigious restaurants. Behind that apparently simple dish are precise movements, carefully controlled temperatures and thoughtful use of ingredients.

During the class, you will explore the egg as more than an ingredient: it can provide the foundation of a dish, create different textures and carry both flavour and creative ideas. You will learn why each action matters and practise delicate techniques in which success depends on attention, precision and an understanding of what is happening as you cook.

The dishes you will make

The recipes introduce different ways of working with eggs, from exceptionally delicate textures to rich, full flavours. Each dish presents its own challenge and helps you develop skills you can use in your own kitchen.

  • Poached eggs with hollandaise sauce, bringing together techniques that demand close attention to texture.
  • French-style scrambled eggs with a soft, silky consistency.
  • A French omelette, where a short ingredient list puts your technique centre stage.
  • Frittata, an Italian dish with rich, satisfying flavours.
  • A soft-boiled egg: a seemingly straightforward task that can challenge even experienced cooks.

Hands-on cooking, not just a demonstration

You will not simply watch someone cook at the front of the room. Every participant takes an active role in preparing the food, follows the explanations and carries out tasks set by the chef. You will cook, taste and learn practical skills that can remain useful long after the class ends.

The format recreates a real working kitchen, including its pace and particular demands. It is recommended for people with an interest in cooking who are ready to get involved and follow the chef's instructions, rather than watch from the sidelines. The advertised duration is 180 minutes, but the actual length depends on the group's pace, so the session may run longer.
