Description

Scuba diving in Nessebar with a priority time slot

Discover the world beneath the surface with scuba diving in Nessebar and priority scheduling at the dive centre. This experience welcomes complete beginners: you do not need previous diving experience or swimming skills. It is organised by an established dive centre with more than 25 years of experience, and an instructor directly supervises you in the water.

Choose an Adventico voucher as a gift or treat yourself to your first underwater adventure. There are choices for one or two participants. The voucher is for a future diving experience; the actual date and time must be booked in advance and confirmed by the dive centre.

A priority time slot and your introduction to diving

Priority access means an agreed appointment in the centre's schedule, allowing you to take part at your booked time without waiting, provided you arrive on time. The activity takes place in a group that may include people you do not know. A priority time slot does not make this a private session.

The meeting point is Nessebar Sea Terminal, in the Burgas area. You enter the sea from the shore after a short walk of approximately 20 metres. When weather and sea conditions are suitable, the dive can reach a depth of up to 5 metres. The depth is adapted to the conditions rather than being a target every participant must reach.

You begin with a briefing and help getting fitted with your equipment. Before the dive, you practise breathing through the scuba equipment and get comfortable in shallow water. Up to 15 minutes is normally set aside for this familiarisation. If you need longer to settle in, the additional time is taken from the time available for the dive.

The session follows a standard introductory programme for beginners. It lets you discover how it feels to breathe and move underwater and can be a first step towards further diver training and a certification course.

Time underwater and the length of your visit

In favourable conditions, your time underwater may reach approximately 50 minutes. The actual duration depends on the weather and sea conditions that day, how you adapt, and the applicable safety standards. This upper limit is not a guaranteed underwater duration for every participant.

Allow up to approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes for the complete experience. This includes the briefing, preparation and equipment fitting, the dive itself, and the activities after you leave the water.

What the experience includes

  • An introductory briefing, safety instructions and equipment fitting.
  • All the diving equipment needed for the session.
  • Breathing practice and familiarisation in shallow water.
  • An introductory scuba dive under an instructor's direct supervision.
  • Photos or video to remember the experience, when weather conditions allow filming.
  • A commemorative certificate after the experience.

Photos or video depend on the weather and are not unconditionally guaranteed. You must provide a valid email address to receive any video footage.

Age, weight and accompanying adults

The experience is suitable for adults and children aged 10 and over, provided there are no medical contraindications. The permitted weight range is 35–130 kg. If you are over 60, you must discuss participation with the dive centre before making a reservation.

Every participant under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who completes the necessary declarations and permissions on site. For children aged 10 or 11, a parent or legal guardian must remain present throughout the entire activity.

Health requirements and written medical clearance

You need to be in good general physical condition and sufficiently rested to take part. Diving is not suitable for people with medical conditions incompatible with the activity. These include epilepsy, pregnancy, serious cardiovascular conditions, lung conditions and ear problems. This is not an exhaustive list of possible contraindications.

If you have a chronic condition, including high blood pressure, you may participate only with written medical clearance for diving. The same requirement applies if you take medication regularly or occasionally, including medication for cardiovascular conditions, blood pressure, cholesterol, mental health or other chronic conditions.

If you have undergone surgery within the previous 12 months, explicit written permission from a doctor is required. Without that document, the dive centre may refuse to provide the activity in the interests of safety.

Before diving, every participant must complete medical forms and declarations covering their health, personal data and informed participation. These documents are compulsory. If you decline to complete them, the activity cannot be provided because of safety requirements.

You may not participate after consuming alcohol, narcotics or other substances with intoxicating, sedative or psychoactive effects, including medication with such effects.

Getting ready for your dive

  • Bring swimwear, a towel and drinking water. A changing room is available on site.
  • If you have long hair, secure it and tie it back before entering the water.
  • Avoid arriving on an empty stomach; having something light to eat beforehand is recommended.
  • Drinking alcohol on the evening before your dive is not recommended.
  • Make time to rest and avoid a long journey immediately before taking part. Diving after a lengthy car, coach or plane journey on the same day is not recommended.
  • Contacting the dive centre the day before your visit to check the weather conditions is recommended.
  • Provide a working email address so you can receive video footage if conditions allow it to be recorded.

Season, reservations and weather-related changes

Dives take place during the active season, from 1 June to 30 September. Request your date and time at least 48 hours in advance; the session remains subject to the centre's confirmation. Your appointment must be arranged beforehand and is not automatically confirmed when you purchase a voucher.

The activity does not run on 14 July because of seasonal equipment maintenance and technical testing. It also does not run on 2 August, the centre's customary non-working day.

Diving takes place only when weather and sea conditions are suitable. Deteriorating conditions or other safety-related circumstances may lead to postponement or cancellation. When rescheduling is necessary, an alternative date or time is offered subject to availability.

Please arrive on time for your reservation. If you are late, you may need to wait or have your session rescheduled, depending on the centre's other appointments.

Cancellation and your diving voucher

The activity provider's stated cancellation policy allows free cancellation up to 36 hours before the booked time slot. This is the provider's condition for this activity, not a general rule applying to all Adventico vouchers.

Give an Adventico voucher for scuba diving in Nessebar and offer someone their first encounter with the underwater world. After purchase, the visit must still be arranged and confirmed, taking account of the operating season, health requirements and safety conditions.
