Skydiving in Sapareva Banya combines a scenic flight towards the Rila Mountains with a tandem jump from 3,500 metres. Fly up to jump altitude, then leave the aircraft with your instructor. Mountain views before the jump

The climb is part of the experience, not simply the journey to jump altitude. As the aircraft gains height above the Sapareva Banya area, you can take in Rila’s slopes and high ridges from a less familiar perspective. When weather conditions allow, views towards the Seven Rila Lakes add to the panorama. Visibility depends on the weather, so lake views are not guaranteed on every flight.

These minutes give you time to look around as anticipation builds. Your airborne experience begins before you reach the aircraft door: the scenery and the coming jump offer two distinct but connected moments.

From preparation to landing

Before take-off, you receive a short theoretical briefing and the necessary equipment, including a jumpsuit, harness and goggles. You are attached to a licensed tandem instructor, who manages each stage from preparation through to landing. No previous skydiving experience is needed: this is not a solo jump.

At 3,500 metres, you leave the aircraft for approximately 40 seconds of freefall. Once the parachute opens, the pace changes. Enjoy another four to five minutes under the canopy before landing at the airfield. The combination lets you experience both the intensity of freefall and a gentler view of the mountains beneath an open parachute.

The stated overall experience duration is around 50 minutes. A branded gift is included alongside the flight, briefing, equipment and tandem instructor. The package brings the whole airborne experience together without separate charges for the scenic flight and the jump.

• A camera mounted on the tandem instructor’s hand.
