Snorkelling in Nessebar with an Instructor and Video

Discover a different side of the sea with snorkelling in Nessebar, an adventure for adults and children aged 12 and over that begins at a beach in the Old Town. As you watch the underwater world from the surface, you may spot remnants of ancient buildings from the submerged parts of old Nessebar in certain places. The experience brings together curiosity about the sea, a close encounter with its environment and the possibility of a video keepsake when conditions allow filming.

What happens during the experience

There is a walk of approximately 20 metres before entering the water directly from the shore. You snorkel at the surface using a mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuit. A life jacket can also be used if needed or requested. An instructor accompanies you throughout your time in the water.

If you wish, there is an opportunity to make a short breath-hold dive to a depth of around 1–2 metres. This is optional, not a compulsory part of the activity. You spend up to 30 minutes in the water, while the whole experience, including preparation and the briefing, takes approximately one hour.

You do not need to know how to swim. Discovering the marine environment also offers a chance to look at it more closely and find a personal reason to care for and protect it.

Participants and required forms

The activity takes place in a group that includes people you do not know. The minimum age is 12, and the permitted weight range is 20–150 kg. Before entering the water, participants must complete risk acknowledgement declarations and a medical form. For anyone under 18, the declaration must be completed by a parent or guardian.

Health restrictions

Under the provider’s stated restrictions, the activity is not suitable for people with epilepsy, a perforated eardrum, pregnancy, a runny nose, inflammatory conditions, or high blood pressure accompanied by heart disease. If you have high blood pressure without the accompanying heart conditions mentioned, written permission from a doctor is required.

How to prepare

• You must contact the diving centre using the supplied telephone number on the day before the activity to check the weather conditions.
• The provider recommends avoiding alcohol the previous evening and avoiding a long journey immediately before snorkelling.
• It is best not to take part on an empty stomach; you can have a light breakfast or snack beforehand.
• Bring swimwear, a towel and a bottle of water. A changing room is available on site.
• Tie back long hair before entering the water.

Receiving your videos

Where filming has taken place, the videos are sent between 3 and 7 days after the activity in a Google Drive folder. You need to provide an email address. To play the videos, you may need to download an HEVC codec from Microsoft’s official website.

Season, reservations and conditions

The activity runs daily from mid-May to early October, but only in suitable weather. Requests must be made at least 96 hours in advance. Your specific date and time need confirmation, and the mandatory weather check with the centre on the previous day still applies.

The provider’s supplied terms state that cancellation is free up to 36 hours before the agreed time. This is a condition stated by the provider and should not automatically be treated as a general Adventico policy.
