Guided Kayaking on the Struma River
Description
Guided Kayaking on the Struma River
Meet the rapids up close with guided kayaking on the Struma River. This water adventure is for those seeking a different kind of thrill, with active paddling, hands-on control of the kayak and an experienced instructor leading the way.
Kayaking is one of the most challenging water activities organised on the Struma. It is suitable if you are in good physical shape, can swim and have the coordination needed to paddle effectively.
From Kresnenski Hancheta to the start of the rapids
The adventure begins at the centre at Kresnenski Hancheta, where you receive your equipment. A transfer takes you to the start, where you are briefed on safety and paddling technique.
An experienced instructor remains nearby throughout the descent to offer advice and guide you in the right direction. To help keep the adventure safe, control your kayak by following the guide and complying with their instructions throughout.
A 12–13 km route with an optional jumping stop
The overall experience lasts approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes along a 12–13 km route. A stop at a jumping rock is included along the way. If you want to try it, you can jump into the lively water after receiving the guide's instructions. Jumping is optional, not compulsory for every participant.
Two-person kayaks and the possibility of paddling solo
The kayaks used are two-seaters. If you would prefer to paddle a kayak on your own, discuss this with the instructor on site. Solo use is possible only if arrangements for the other enrolled participants allow it, and it is not guaranteed in advance.
What is included
- A kayak and paddle.
- A helmet, buoyancy aid, wetsuit, water boots and a dry jacket.
- Transport from the base to the start and from the finish back to the base.
