Wine and History Tour near Nessebar with 6-Wine Tasting

Discover the flavours of the Black Sea coast alongside its past on a wine and history tour near Nessebar. This 90-minute experience takes you to a winery on the historic Simeonova Mogila hill, combining local history with an introduction to winemaking and a tasting of six wines accompanied by selected gourmet bites. It is a chance to bring something different to your seaside holiday and explore a world of aromas and flavours.

The history of Simeonova Mogila

The historical part of the tour explores the setting of the winery itself. Simeonova Mogila hill is associated with the Battle of the Aheloy River, led by Tsar Simeon the Great. An experienced guide explains that connection and the historical events that give the visit another dimension beyond the wine.

A wine tour featuring award-winning wines

Developed over nearly ten years, the wine tour introduces the main practices used to produce medal-winning wines distinguished by their rich flavour and quality. You will discover this side of the winery’s work and learn about a producer with more than 90 international medals and awards from some of the most prestigious wine competitions.

Six wines paired with gourmet bites

The tasting spans a range of wine styles, allowing you to explore different aromas and flavours through a selected tasting sequence. It includes:

• Two white wines.
• One rosé.
• Two red wines.
• One sweet dessert wine.

Each wine is accompanied by food chosen according to the Food & Wine Pairing concept. During the visit, you will learn how to assess wine in combination with its accompanying flavours, rather than only on its own. The gourmet bites are an integral part of the tasting, helping you explore each of the six wines through its pairing.
