The visit takes in both the old and new sections of the winery, showing how inherited practices connect with contemporary production.

The historic section holds some of the largest ageing casks, with a capacity of 20 tonnes, preserved since the winery was founded. Another unusual feature is the country's first glass barrel, made using a unique Austrian technology. These tangible pieces of the winery's history are part of what you will see during the visit.

You will also explore the wine library, with its extensive range of collectible wines, the modern micro-winery section and the wine museum. After getting to know the estate, you will taste five selected regional wines under the guidance of the winery's oenologist.

Second stop: a wine centre on the Street of Crafts

From the winery, the route continues to a wine centre on Veliko Tarnovo's Street of Crafts. Here, you will try another five wines selected from some of the region's finest, with the focus shifting to the tasting process itself.

A presenter will explain the wines' origins and share advice on tasting them like a professional. Tasting-sized portions of food accompany the wines: cured meats, kashkaval yellow cheese and white brined cheese from local producers. These are accompaniments to the tasting rather than a full meal.

After the tasting, you can test your senses with professional kits containing 88 aromas found in different wines. This gives you another way to explore wine aromas and pay closer attention to your own sensory impressions before the day ends.

What the wine day includes

Duration, transport and advance arrangements

Both venues are visited on the same day, starting with the winery and continuing to the wine centre. The total duration is approximately 5–6 hours. Transport is not included: your group must arrange its own transport for the entire route.

The event runs year-round on a date requested in advance, from Tuesday to Friday, starting at either 11:00 or 12:00. Plan at least a week ahead: the recommended notice is a minimum of seven days, and the listed advance-request period is 168 hours.

Participation requirements and provider conditions

The experience is for adults aged 18 and over only. Stairs at the wine centre make access difficult for people with limited mobility.
