4-Day SUP Trip in Jason’s Bay, Greece

Take four days out for a SUP trip in Jason’s Bay, Greece, where the Pelion coast brings together beautiful beaches, time to unwind and stories of ancient gods and heroes. The experience combines paddleboarding, three nights of camping, relaxed moments by the sea and evenings in local tavernas. You can join even if you have never tried stand-up paddleboarding before.

Pelion: the land of centaurs and the starting point of a legendary voyage

This region has long been associated with myths of courageous heroes and ancient Greek gods. According to legend, the gods came down from Olympus to rest here between their divine duties. Pelion was also said to be the homeland of the centaurs. Chiron, the wisest of them and the teacher of Achilles, roamed the mountain’s slopes.

It was from here that Jason and his companions set sail aboard the Argo in search of the Golden Fleece. Today, these stories provide a memorable backdrop to a coastal escape, with picturesque bays, clear waters rich in fish and small seaside villages that welcome visitors.

Alongside the scenery and favourable paddleboarding conditions, you can look forward to the food served in the little local tavernas. Your days bring together time on the water, visits to beautiful stretches of coast and unhurried breaks to eat and relax.

What to expect on the four-day trip

Departure is at 7:30 am from Vasil Levski Stadium in Sofia. The journey to the destination takes approximately eight hours, including breaks. After arrival and check-in, the programme allows a few free hours for the beach and some rest, followed by dinner at a nearby taverna that evening.

The next two days focus on an active coastal break, with SUP outings and visits to beautiful beaches. Between paddles, there is time to enjoy a cold drink, good food and sea views. Meals and drinks are at your own expense and are not included in the experience.

If the weather forecast is suitable, the programme also includes a visit to an abandoned monastery on a small uninhabited island. Evenings are spent eating and enjoying drinks at Argentina taverna, with sunsets adding to the setting.
