Aged Rakia Tasting with Farm-Produced Appetisers in Sofia
Description
Aged Rakia Tasting with Farm-Produced Appetisers in Sofia
An aged rakia tasting with farm-produced appetisers in Sofia introduces you to selected spirits and the history and traditions of rakia production. The experience combines a visit to the Rakia Museum with a tasting of three aged rakias of your choice and a small appetiser.
Discover flavours from different regions
Explore a selection of drinks from across Bulgaria, including traditional grape rakias, fruit rakias and aged varieties, served with traditional savoury accompaniments. Your included tasting consists of three aged grape and/or fruit rakias of your choice, with a 25 ml serving of each. The farm-produced accompaniments are a small appetiser rather than a full meal.
This gives you the chance to choose the types of rakia that interest you while learning more about the history and traditions behind their production.
Inside the Rakia Museum
The museum lets you see column stills, pot stills and historic clay distillation vessels up close. These exhibits offer a tangible introduction to the equipment associated with making rakia.
An extensive collection of vintage labels reveals distinctive imagery from the history of rakia in Bulgaria. You receive a card with a QR code linking to detailed information and an audio guide covering the exhibits and the museum’s activities.
After exploring, you can visit the museum shop. It offers exclusive rakias, other collectable drinks and themed souvenirs to remind you of your visit. Shop purchases are not included in the tasting package.
