A Sofia audio guide turns a city walk into your own exploration of the capital and its cultural landmarks. Listen on your phone, use the suggested map and walk at a pace that feels right for you. There is no group schedule to follow and no guide accompanying you: you decide where to go and which stories to hear.

The map features 25 cultural sites, with recordings in 7 languages. As you approach a place on the route, select its number to play the corresponding audio. Access lasts for 72 hours from your reserved date, leaving you free to choose when to listen within that period.

From the National Theatre to the city centre’s religious landmarks

The suggested route starts at the National Theatre. It continues to the Russian Church, St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the churches of St Sophia and St Petka, and the Central Mosque.

The commentary goes beyond what you can see from the street. Some recordings also share facts about the interiors of particular landmarks, including the Rotunda of St George and St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. This audio content does not mean that admission fees to enter the sites are included.

The route forms a loop to make sightseeing easier. You do not have to complete every stop or follow a fixed order: choose your recordings and listening times within the active access period. Walking around the suggested landmarks usually takes approximately 2.5 to 4 hours, depending on your pace.

Receiving your link and starting the 72-hour access period

After reserving a date, you receive an email with a link to the player and a map showing the cultural sites along the route. Check your spam folder too, so that you do not miss the information you need.

The player becomes active on the date selected when making your reservation and remains available for 72 hours. During that time, you decide which recordings to hear and when to take your walk. The estimated 2.5–4 hours needed for the route is separate from the full access period.

• Comfortable walking shoes and clothing appropriate for the season.

The experience is also suitable for children. The stated minimum age is 6.

Advance arrangements, admission fees and cancellation

The audio guide can be used every day throughout the year with an advance reservation. The source conditions specify arranging it at least 30 hours before the selected date.

Any admission fees charged by the sites are not included. If you choose to enter a landmark that requires a ticket, this is separate from your audio-guide access.

The organiser’s offer states that cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the reserved time. This supplier-specific condition does not automatically become a general term for Adventico vouchers.
