Choose beginner scuba diving in a sheltered lagoon in Sozopol—the easiest, safest way to take your first step underwater. You’re guided by an experienced instructor (maximum two participants per instructor), and all equipment plus underwater footage are included.

What to expect

You’ll meet at the dive center in Sozopol. The lagoon is just about 30 meters away—a calm spot with shore entry, ideal for first dives and encounters with schooling and bottom-dwelling fish.

How it works, step by step

• Quick check-in and paperwork at the center.
• Gear-up and a safety briefing on how to use the equipment.
• Move to the lagoon for shallow-water breathing practice—standing depth (water up to chest) with gear checks.
• Main dive: you start shallow, and depending on your comfort, your instructor can take you to approximately 6 m depth.

Total experience time is around 1 hour 30 minutes: prep and briefing (~30 min), time underwater (~40 min), and activities before/after the dive (~20 min).
