Meet the team

The activity is run by ATLANTIS DIVING CENTER, established in 2009 as the first Bulgarian diving centre outside Bulgaria. Its international team includes qualified diving instructors from Bulgaria, Australia, Luxembourg, England, Romania and Hungary. The team communicates with participants in Bulgarian, English, French and German.

From the briefing to your underwater exploration

You begin on land by completing the necessary paperwork, receiving a detailed briefing and being fitted with equipment. Allow time and patience for this preparation: it is an important part of the experience rather than a quick formality.

Once equipped, you enter shallow water with your instructor, at a depth of around 1.2 metres. Here you get used to breathing through a scuba regulator and complete a few short exercises. The underwater exploration begins once you feel calm and confident in the water. You can then enjoy the clear sea and its fish, with the feeling of swimming through a natural aquarium.

Allow approximately 3–4 hours for the whole activity, including preparation. Some waiting on site is required. This is a group experience that may include people you have not met before, with no more than four participants per instructor during the underwater excursion.

Getting ready for your dive

• Wear swimwear underneath the wetsuit and other equipment supplied on site.
• Bring your usual beach essentials and sunscreen.
• Do not consume alcohol or other intoxicating substances before diving, and do not take part if you are hungover.
• Do not fly for 18 hours after the dive.
• Bring your smile and a good mood to make the most of your time by the sea.

Age and health restrictions

The minimum age is 10. Participants under 18 need parental consent. The provider lists inflamed sinuses or a runny nose, ear or eardrum problems, cardiovascular conditions and panic attacks as contraindications.

Season, meeting arrangements and cancellation

Dives run daily from 6 May to 30 October, in the morning and before midday. Once you have a reservation, you must contact the instructor one or two days before your date. They will confirm the weather conditions, the exact beach location and your arrival time. Ask the instructor for directions if you need help finding the meeting point.
