Description

Jeep Safari from Gyovren to Seven Sights in the Western Rhodopes

Choose a jeep safari from Gyovren to seven sights in the Western Rhodopes and bring mountain panoramas, wild horses, an unusual forest, highland lakes and distinctive rock formations together in one adventure. This four-hour trip is for your own party of up to 6 people, travelling in an off-road jeep specially adapted for safaris. A professional driver and guide accompanies you, sharing information about the places along the route.

If you are looking for a gift that will not simply sit on a shelf, give someone the chance to make memories together. This journey takes you into the Rhodope Mountains, with each stop revealing something different, from distant peaks to traces of life in an abandoned village.

Valchi Kamak: the first sweeping viewpoint

Your adventure begins with a jeep ride to Valchi Kamak. At an altitude of 1,650 metres, the viewing platform is described by the operator as the highest panoramic platform on the Balkan Peninsula. The scenic drive up already offers views of the Rhodopes and neighbouring mountain ranges.

At the platform itself, the landscape opens out in every direction. The 360-degree panorama takes in the Rila and Pirin mountains as well as the Greek Rhodopes, giving you a chance to follow mountain skylines far beyond the route you are travelling.

Mechi Vrah: views from 1,920 metres

The next stop is Mechi Vrah, at an altitude of 1,920 metres below Golyam Perelik, the highest peak in the Rhodope Mountains. From here, the view stretches towards the Eastern Rhodopes and Kazanite, which the operator describes as the largest nature reserve in the Western Rhodopes. This stop adds another elevated perspective to your journey.

Chamla: an abandoned village and free-roaming wild horses

The route continues to the village of Chamla. Wild horses roam freely in this abandoned settlement, whose remote setting gives it a distinctive atmosphere. Chamla has also been used as a location for Bulgarian and international film productions, adding another layer to its story and sense of mystery.

The Drunken Forest: trees that bend in unexpected directions

After exploring this wild setting, you will visit the Drunken Forest. Here, tree trunks curve in different directions as a result of movement in the underlying karst ground layer. This natural process creates an unusual woodland landscape, with each tree seeming to follow its own line and contributing to the forest’s mysterious feel.

The Chaira Lakes: a peaceful stop at 1,400 metres

The next part of the journey takes you to the Chaira Lakes, at an altitude of 1,400 metres. These karst lakes were formed by landslides. As well as being a natural attraction, the area offers the chance to enjoy a gentle walk along the small bridges that lead through this Rhodope landscape.

Probit Kamak and Sloncheto: a finale shaped in rock

The route finishes with the rock formations of Probit Kamak and Sloncheto. Their unusual shapes and geological significance make them a distinctive conclusion to the tour. After the panoramic heights, village, forest and lakes, these formations reveal another aspect of the area’s natural character.

Advance booking and participation requirements

A voucher for shared memories in the Rhodopes

Give this jeep safari as an Adventico voucher or choose it for your own group.
