A children's scuba diving course in Sozopol can turn your child's seaside holiday into a first real encounter with life beneath the surface. A first underwater adventure with instructors trained to teach children

The course is led by qualified scuba diving instructors who specialise in working with children and hold the relevant international certifications to SDI — Scuba Diving International — standards. They introduce diving equipment and essential techniques gradually, with attention to each child's age and individual needs.

Teaching takes place in small groups, allowing each child to receive personal attention and progress at their own pace. Throughout the training, instructors supervise participants, offer guidance and support, and look after their safety and confidence in the water. A personal diving instructor who specialises in teaching children is included, while the course itself takes place in a group setting.

What your child will learn

The four days combine theory with water sessions and underwater exercises. Your child will learn the fundamentals of safe scuba diving, how to use the equipment, and how to control their breathing and movement underwater. Their first actual dives in seawater provide an opportunity to put those skills into practice.

The course also introduces marine plants and animals, giving your child the chance to discover a world they would otherwise see only from the shore. As their experience grows, they can develop confidence and greater independence in the water while remaining under instructor supervision.

International certification on successful completion

After successfully completing the training, your child receives the internationally recognised SDI Junior Open Water Scuba Diver certification. Who the course is for

The course is designed for children aged 10 to 16 who feel comfortable in the water, enjoy the sea, active games and adventure, and are keen to try something new. The minimum participation age is 10. If you are unsure whether the activity is right for your child, the organiser's team is available to discuss suitability before you make arrangements.

While your child learns and explores underwater under professional supervision, you can enjoy some free time during your holiday. Small-group teaching combines a shared experience with individual attention. Other children in the group may be people your child has not met before.

Season, schedule and advance registration

The course takes place in Sozopol between 20 June and 14 September. The stated operating days are Monday to Sunday, between 09:00 and 17:00. Training lasts four days in total, with the precise session schedule arranged with the organiser. The activity is weather-dependent.

For this course, the organiser requires registration at least 7 days in advance by calling 089 784 8030 after 17:00. A general minimum advance request period of 72 hours is also stated, but the course-specific registration requirement is longer: at least 7 days. Use that longer deadline when planning your child's participation.

You must contact the organiser again 2–3 days before arrival, also after 17:00, to confirm the arrangements and finalise the programme. A parent or legal guardian must be present on the first day when the required documents are completed.

Health restrictions and cancellation

The organiser lists eardrum problems, hypertension, epilepsy, claustrophobia and post-operative conditions as contraindications to diving. Take these restrictions into account before planning your child's participation, and discuss any uncertainty about the suitability of the course with the organiser.

Under the condition stated by the organiser, cancellation is free up to 70 hours before the reserved start time. This is the service provider's condition for the activity, not a separate general Adventico cancellation policy.
