How kneeboarding works

You ride kneeling on the board, with your body leaning back and your arms extended forwards. You hold a handle attached to a 20-metre tow rope connected to a motorised watercraft. A boat or jet ski pulls the board across the water, while you steer by shifting your balance: lean left to turn left, or right to turn right.

You do not need prior fitness training or specialist skills, but you do need to be able to balance your body. If you feel unsure at any point, simply release the handle to stop being towed and come to a halt.

Land-based instruction and equipment

Before heading onto the water, you receive a briefing on land. It combines an explanation of what to do with a demonstration, introducing you to the riding position and how to steer. An experienced instructor is included in the experience.

Who can take part

The minimum age is 14 and the maximum participant weight is 115 kg. The experience is suitable for children who meet the age requirement. Anyone under 18 must have permission from a parent.

Season, reservations and weather checks

The activity takes place at Batak Reservoir in the Pazardzhik region. The listed season runs from 1 July to 31 August, every day from Monday to Sunday, between 08:00 and 18:00. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours before the intended session.

This is a weather-dependent activity. On the day of your reservation, you must contact the instructor before setting off to check whether conditions allow the session to go ahead.
