Take-off above Skalsko and views of the Balkan foothills

The usual launch site is directly above the village of Skalsko. Set beneath a picturesque line of cliffs, the village is 15 km from Gabrovo, 33 km from Veliko Tarnovo and 25 km from Sevlievo. The surrounding scenery becomes part of the experience before you even leave the ground.

The flight depends on the weather. If conditions above Skalsko are unsuitable, your pilot may suggest another launch site where conditions allow flying. The exact location must therefore be agreed in advance; take-off from Skalsko is not guaranteed in all circumstances.

What your tandem flight includes

• A scenic flight for one person lasting approximately 10–15 minutes.
• A pre-flight briefing.
• The necessary flying equipment.
• A pilot-instructor who flies the paraglider.

The experience is provided individually for the selected number of participants. Each tandem flight carries one participant with the pilot.

Optional photos and video

You can add photos and video recording if you would like images to remember your experience. These are optional extras rather than part of the standard flight inclusions.

The extra includes photographs and a video approximately one and a half to two minutes long. The video consists of unedited footage of selected moments, rather than a recording of the entire flight. Your pilot supplies the material; ask on site how it will be shared with you.

Age and participation limits

The flight is also suitable for children, with a minimum age of 12. Participants must weigh between 30 and 100 kg. A parent must be present on site for anyone under 18.

Season, booking and preparation

Flights can take place daily from March to November when the weather is suitable. Book at least 24 hours in advance. All flights remain subject to appropriate weather conditions.

• You must call the pilot the day before your reserved flight, using the contact details provided, to confirm the forecast and the exact launch site.
• Wear comfortable sports shoes and sports clothing.
• Bring an outer layer suitable for the season.
• Arrive at the agreed location 10–15 minutes before your scheduled time.
• If you have added photos and video, ask the pilot on site how you will receive them.
