Fotonika Flight Simulator Experience in Sofia

Discover the thrill of flying a combat aircraft with the Fotonika flight simulator experience in Sofia. In the city centre, you can take the pilot’s seat and enjoy an experience designed to recreate the feeling of being airborne without leaving the simulator room. Navigation tasks and combat missions introduce you to flying with an instructor’s guidance throughout the experience.

Step into a fighter jet cockpit

Fotonika features a simplified fighter jet cockpit equipped with the aircraft’s essential controls and systems. It is a single-seat cockpit, so you take the pilot’s position on your own. There is also seating for several spectators in the simulator room, allowing others to watch your flight while the flying experience remains individual.

A briefing and simulated flight with instructor guidance

The experience lasts 90 minutes in total and includes both a briefing and a flight in the simulator. Your instructor provides explanations and guidance as you work through a variety of navigation and combat missions. Along the way, you explore the fundamentals of aircraft control as well as situations that call for different flying techniques.

What you will learn during the flight

• How the aircraft is put together and how its controls work.
• How to take off, gain altitude and speed, and follow a heading.
• How to land in different conditions and on different runways.
• How to perform aerobatic manoeuvres.
• How to fly in challenging conditions, including wind, fog, rain and darkness.
• What is involved in close-range and long-range aerial combat.
• How to carry out an attack on ground targets.
• How to fly in formation as part of a squadron.

What is included and who can take part

The experience includes the briefing and the flight in the simulator. Each selected participant takes part individually, and the cockpit accommodates one pilot at a time.

Children can take part from the minimum age of 7. Children aged 14 and under must be accompanied.
