Snowshoe Hike Vitosha – a unique way to make your winter weekends with friends more varied!
The full-day snowshoe hike on Vitosha can have many starting points depending on the snow conditions – we focus on Aleko Hut.
Programme:
The group gathers at 09:00 in the parking lot of Moreni Hotel (the turning point of bus 66), where a briefing for the upcoming hike will be held by a licensed mountain guide.
We set off toward Ushite shelter, from where, after a short break, we continue upward toward Cherni Vrah via Selimitsa Peak. We stop for an afternoon snack and descend to Aleko Hut. Depending on the conditions and the guide’s judgement, the route may be subject to changes during the hike.
Required equipment:
• Windproof and waterproof jacket and trousers (ski clothing may also be used)
• Poles, a hat and two pairs of gloves
• If you do not have poles, the team will provide them
• Each participant should bring food and water according to their own preference
Important: Every participant must have mountain insurance for the day of the activity.
