Set in Bulgaria’s first plantation of its kind, this team-building experience combines an introduction to these remarkable fungi with time in nature and gourmet food. Over two hours, you will follow the truffle’s journey from a search with a trained dog to the many ways it can be enjoyed at the table.

A woodland welcome with linden blossom tea

Your meeting point is the parking area before the forest. From there, a dedicated little train takes your group to the experience site. If you would rather explore on foot, a walking route is also offered.

The hosts welcome you with a warm cup of linden blossom tea. A short, engaging talk introduces the origins of truffles, how they are discovered and the culinary qualities that make them so prized. It sets the scene for the delicacy you are about to seek out and taste.

Watch a trained dog search for real truffles

A professionally trained truffle dog and its handler lead the demonstration of an actual truffle hunt. You accompany them in the field and learn about the methods used to locate these valuable fungi. Rather than simply hearing about truffles, you see the search unfold, gaining new knowledge and memories of an adventure shared with your group.

A tasting of the hosts’ truffle specialities

After the demonstration, enjoy a gourmet tasting of high-quality truffle foods made by your hosts under their “Thracian Truffles” brand. The selection explores different combinations, from savoury bruschetta to chocolates containing real pieces of truffle.

• Bruschetta with white truffle spread, combining a button mushroom base with bianchetto truffle, Tuber borchii.
• Bruschetta with white truffle “Royal Sauce”, made with cream, cheese and white truffles of the borchii and magnatum varieties.
• Chocolates containing pieces of white and black truffle, described by their producer as the first Bulgarian chocolates to contain pieces of both types.
• One 330 ml bottle of mineral water per person.
• Linden blossom tea made with blossoms gathered in the nearby linden woodland.

What your group experience includes

This is a private tour for your own party, rather than an activity shared with unfamiliar participants. The main package is for up to 7 people, with arrangements also offered for groups of 8, 9 or 10. The experience lasts 2 hours.

Location, season and advance arrangements

The experience takes place in the Varna area, within Dobrich Province. It runs by prior reservation every day from March to November, between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, provided the weather is suitable. As this is a weather-dependent activity, arrangements for your visit must be agreed with the organiser. Make your reservation at least 48 hours in advance.

After reserving, you must call the organiser on the contact number provided to obtain the exact coordinates of the meeting point. Wear comfortable, season-appropriate clothing and charge your phone so you can take photographs during the tour.

Cancellation and a voucher for a shared adventure

The organiser states that cancellation is free up to 72 hours before the agreed start time. This is a condition attached to the activity, not a general cancellation policy for all Adventico vouchers.
