Mindful cooking and a deeper connection to Bulgarian roots
This culinary art therapy in Sofia is a guided experience where food speaks, the body listens, and the soul responds. Over three hours, you cook while also connecting with your inner world and the symbolism of Bulgarian flavors.
What is the experience?
This workshop is part of a joint project by “Just Focus – Kitchen for the Soul” and Culinary School “Menu”. Each step in the kitchen becomes a step inward, from chopping and kneading to seasoning. Cooking here is not routine, but a conscious way to connect with your body, emotions, and the stories you carry.
Who leads the workshop?
- Chef Ivelina Ivanova leads the cooking part and shows you how to prepare beloved traditional recipes in their most honest, homemade form.
- Psychotherapist Verzhiniya Petkova guides you through the inner layers of the experience: associations, symbols, family memory, and personal stories linked to food.
What to expect
You work in a group and prepare selected traditional dishes step by step. Alongside the cooking process, you explore your senses and inner voice — what happens when you chop, knead, or season. The experience lasts 3 hours.
Is this for you?
- If you believe food is more than calories and recipes — it carries stories, brings people together, and can feel deeply meaningful.
- If you want an authentic experience that reconnects you with your roots and gives cooking a new sense of purpose.
- If you are looking for a Bulgarian cuisine workshop in Sofia with a mindful approach.
